Drinking water you can stop second-guessing

If your kitchen tap is fed by a well in the East Mountains, nobody else is checking that water for you. A reverse osmosis system under the sink, backed by real testing, gives you a dependable glass for drinking and cooking.

Well owners: test before you treat

Private wells aren't regulated like public water systems, so the owner is responsible for testing. Arsenic occurs naturally in groundwater in parts of the Middle Rio Grande region, and nitrate and bacteria can't be seen or tasted. We help you arrange lab testing for these, then recommend treatment based on actual results.

Why RO is the drinking-water tool for mountain wells

East Mountain groundwater moves through fractured limestone, and quality can change from one well to the next. That unpredictability is exactly why a point-of-use system with a broad reduction range makes sense at the kitchen sink. Reverse osmosis pushes water through a very fine membrane, lowering total dissolved solids. It's the standard point-of-use approach for reducing arsenic, nitrate, fluoride and lead.

Performance depends on the specific contaminant and your water chemistry, so we confirm with testing rather than promise a number. And if a lab result ever shows bacteria, that needs disinfection, which RO isn't meant to provide; we'll refer you for that.

On a community system? Your provider tests and publishes an annual water quality report. Many families on community water still choose RO simply because they prefer the taste of low-mineral water for drinking, coffee and cooking.

What we check during your free visit

The on-site test takes about 15 minutes, and you watch the readings come up in real time:

  • Hardness
  • Total dissolved solids
  • pH
  • Chlorine
  • Iron and manganese
  • Sulfur

TDS is the reading most connected to RO. For arsenic, nitrate and other items that need a certified lab, we help well owners set that up. You keep a printed report either way. Book your free water test.

RO does send some water to the drain as it works. In an area where groundwater levels have dropped, that's one reason we keep it at the kitchen sink for drinking and cooking only. Compare all options on the packages page, or read how the technology works on our main reverse osmosis page.

RO questions from East Mountain households

Does RO replace a whole-house softener on hard well water?

No. RO treats one faucet. A softener protects the plumbing and appliances throughout the house. Many East Mountain homes use both.

Can you test my well for arsenic on the spot?

Arsenic needs a certified lab. We help you arrange that test and go over the results with you when they come back.

Our shared well serves three houses. Who needs RO?

Each household decides for its own kitchen. We can install under-sink RO in any of the homes after looking at the shared well's test results.
